Day 1 - Guwahati to Shillong

On arrival at the airport/railway station the driver from “North East Tours” will pick you up and drive you towards Shillong. Shillong is a beautiful hill station also known as the “Scotland of the East” it is the capital city of Meghalaya and one of the major tourist destinations of East India. On the way, we will stop at "Umiam Lake" where you can enjoy the scenic beauty of the lake. After reaching Shillong, we will check you in to the hotel where you will stay for the night. If time permits, we will take you to local sightseeing of the city.

Day 2 - Shillong Sightseeing

In the morning after having breakfast, we will take you for the local sightseeing. Shillong is famous for its clean steep streets, beautiful lakes, parks and of course the breathtaking waterfalls. Wards Lake, Lady Hydari Park, Don Bosco Museum, Elephant falls, etc. are some notable sightseeing destinations. Then after we will get back to the hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 3 - Mawlynnong & Dawki

In the morning after having breakfast, we will take you to the Asia’s cleanest village Mawlynnong. Mawlynnong is famous for its cleanliness and living root bridges. We will further take you to Dawki, about 20 kilometres south of Mawlynnong. Dawki lies at the border of India and Bangladesh and is famous for a suspension bridge over Umngot River (commonly known as Dawki bridge) constructed by British in 1932. Boating is also available on Umngot River. After sightseeing at Dawki, we will take you to Cherrapunjee for an overnight stay.

Day 4 - Cherrapunjee Sightseeing

In the morning after having breakfast we will be sightseeing at the wettest place on the Earth, "Cherrapunjee". It holds the all-time record for the most rainfall in a calendar month and in a year. Cherrapunjee is famous for living root bridges, Nohkalikai waterfalls, Seven Sister waterfalls, Mawsmai caves. Then after we will get back to the hotel for an over night stay.

Day 5 - Cherrapunjee to Kaziranga

In the morning after having breakfast we will check out from the hotel and head towards Kaziranga, the world heritage site situated in Assam. It would be around 370 kilometers drive from Cherrapunjee and it is estimated to take around 9 hours. So, it would be a complete journey day with few stops to enjoy the local beauties and cuisine of Assam and Meghalaya. After reaching there we will check into the hotel for an over night stay.

Day 6 - Kaziranga Sightseeing

Early morning around 5am, you will go for elephant ride and come back to hotel for breakfast. Then after you will go for a jeep safari (vehicles are permitted only from 7am-4pm everyday). After lunch, visit the "Orchid Park" to observe different varieties of orchids. You can also visit "Tea Garden", "Coffee Plantation" & can also watch the "Cultural Show Of Folk Dances". In the evening, you can visit souvenir shops to purchase some momentum. Then after you will get back to the hotel for overnight stay.

Day 7 - Kaziranga to Guwahati

In the morning after having breakfast we will check out from the hotel and drive towards Guwahati. After reaching Guwahati we can take you out on sightseeing of Guwahati city. The notable places to check out and enjoy in Guwahati are Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra, Balaji temple, Umanada (the smallest river island of the world), river cruises on the mighty River Brahmaputra and many other fantastic places. Then after we will get back to the hotel for an over night stay.

Day 8 - End of the journey


Guwahati Hotel Railway Station/Airport (Guwahati)

Early morning we will check out from the hotel and be ready to set off to visit the most holy temple of Guwahati (Kamakhya Temple) situated in Nilachal Hill. The temple will be opened at 8.am. Then after we will we will drop you off to the Railway Station/ Airport (Guwahati) for your onward journey to your home.
